On March 8, 2024, the grounds of Pukekohe Hill School transformed into a vibrant hub of joy and laughter as the Runway Friends and Family Community Picnic unfolded. Themed as a "Summer Fiesta," it was a relaxed evening filled with fun, games, and time to spend with families and friends – old & new.

Traditional games like egg and spoon races, tug of war, sack races, and the timeless three-legged race echoed with cheers and friendly competition. But the festivities didn't stop there. A bouncy castle, vibrant pink! - invited both young & old to bounce to their hearts' content. Nearby, a talented face painter, Keely Wright, transformed eager faces into works of art.

One of the highlights of the day was the Taco Truck photo booth, and who could forget the hilarious challenge of "pin the mustache on Kelvin"? Amidst fits of laughter, blindfolded participants attempted to pin the mustache on a portrait of our Youth Coach Kelvin, adding an extra layer of amusement to the evenings activities.

At the end of the evening, with the grand fiesta costume parade finished, and the BINGO cards of activities all completed, each participant enjoyed a well-deserved prize of their choice to take home.

As the sun began to dip below the horizon, there was a collective sense of contentment in the air. The Runway Friends and Family Community Picnic had been more than just an event—it was a celebration of family, friendship, and the simple joys of life.

As families packed up their blankets and bid farewell to one another, there was a great sense of happy memories made, new friends, & a gratitude for the amazing community that Runway and ADDventurers has to enjoy.

We look forward to our picnic for 2025 – I wonder what the grand theme will be?
