The ADDventurers Team had the pleasure of participating in the vibrant and heartwarming Pukekohe Whanau Day held at Ngaa Hau E Whaa O Marae on Saturday, 25th May. This event, hosted by the Pukekohe Community Police, was a beautiful celebration of community, connection, and support, and we were thrilled to be a part of it.
Our team, dedicated to supporting whaanau living with ADHD, brought a range of engaging activities to share with the community. Central to our presence was the creation of a collaborative mural, illustrating the journey of Aoreretini (ADHD). Children and their families eagerly contributed to the mural, each painting a rock to represent individuals within our community. This collective artwork not only symbolized the diversity and inclusivity of our community but also highlighted the unique paths and experiences of those living with ADHD.
In addition to the mural, we added a touch of fun and excitement with our 'Guess the Lollies in the Jar' competition. Participants of all ages took part, each hoping to win the fabulous basket of gifts.
Our bubble machine filled the air with bubbles, creating a scene of laughter and play that epitomized the spirit of Whanau Day.
The event was a resounding success, bringing together families, friends, and various community groups. For the ADDventurers Team, it was a perfect platform to showcase the support we offer to whaanau impacted by ADHD and to emphasize the importance of community and connection.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Pukekohe Community Police for organizing such a meaningful event and to everyone who participated and engaged with us.
Together, we continue to build a community that understands, embraces, and supports the unique journeys of those living with ADHD. Here's to many more days of connection and celebration!
